Okay, what is this site? What's going on here?

This is the personal website of me, Mikey Casalaina. Thanks for stopping by.

Personal website? What's the point of a personal website in the modern day?

I was just asking myself that exact same question. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. Which is why, I guess, this site is like it is. The web has evolved a lot since back in the day, when it seemed important to plant a flag with a personal site. Now, there are so many avenues of communication, this format feels a little outdated.

But ... I'm here. At your website. Aren't you going to tell me something about yourself?

This seems like an awkward place for small-talk, doesn't it? But fine. Hello. Nice to meet you. My name is Mikey. I'm a web designer/developer and musician living in Amsterdam, NL.

“Web designer/developer and musician.” So, you have a laptop and a guitar? Get a job.

Wow, for an imaginary questioner, you're pretty cynical. But, okay, let me offer some documentation.

I work as a frontend developer with WeTransfer. WeTransfer is the elegantly simple file-sharing service based in Amsterdam.

I play music with the band Naive Set. We released a couple of record you can check out on Spotify or Bandcamp or buy on vinyl.

Alright, I checked out the links and it all seems legit. But, what if I wanted to contact you?

Funny you should ask, that's how you're supposed to conclude a personal website. If you like, you can follow me on twitter, @casalaina or .

Okay, anything else you'd like to add?

Hmm, let me think.

No, I guess that's everything.
